Volunteer Interpreter Scheme

Sporting Talk operates a volunteer scheme for interpreters. The volunteer scheme aims to help interpreters who are starting out in the profession to gain experience and develop their skills.

We are limited to providing volunteer interpreters for liaison interpreting only. We are unable to provide volunteer interpreters for jobs that require a higher level of skill such as conference interpreting, business meetings, etc.

Volunteer interpreters will be provided at the discretion of Sporting Talk. The following list provides examples of jobs that may be suitable for volunteer interpreters:

Team Liaison
acting as an interpreter for a sporting team at an event in order for them to access facilities, information, etc
Public Liaison
acting as a source of information to the public on behalf of the event organiser
Official Liaison
acting as an interpreter for officials at sporting events
